Ken Robinson 2006 Ted Talk

Me:but unfortunately I'm still paying for one

So I've came across this video showed by our dear lecturer during our creative study class and had given a task to write some video response to it. Well.....Mr. Ken Robinson do has some interesting points in his speech and I honestly learnt alot(from subtitles). So we will have a little discuss about the title for today, which is the same as the video title(if you can see). Do schools kill creativity?

School
you'll always lazy to go but will always miss it
A school is an institution designed for the teaching of students (or "pupils") under the direction of teachers. Most countries have systems of formal education, which is commonly compulsory. In these systems, students progress through a series of schools. ---from wikipedia
Now when we talk about school, we talk about education. Parents sent their children to school almost everyday to make sure their children is "educated". And by mentioning educated it should be meant their children should be taught knowledge, skills and thinking. Now lets back to our topic, does school kills creativity? Sir Ken Robinson mentioned every kids have their own talents, but not focused and build to it. Who is the main culprit that made it happened?
kid A: Creativity? by the way what homework do we have again
...Well more like the method of our education is killing it. In schools we usually are given or taught the method of solving things for example, we learnt how to get 2 by 1+1, we know how to use computers for facebooking and internet trolling and we all know to borrow textbooks from next class before our teacher start raging.

“Worst week of my life!”
~ Chuck Schuldiner on High School

What I want to say is our education does not really put attention into this creativity sections. In their point of view, they have to educate a whole bunch of kiddos which can't even memorized A B C correctly thus why should they focus on these highly risky field rather than just spoonfed them with what they should know and they must know. By doing this they would not get complains from their parents too. Asian parents especially. This is a win win situation which even I, just graduated from this so call compulsary education by the goverment thinks is legit.

The only thing that most Asian parents contributed to this creativity field will be sending their children to music class, art class, mind thinking class 24/7 a week...

Although school do kills the growth of children's creativity, but creativity is not something that can be "killed" or "vanish".It will be always there, to ultilize or not the child itself could still made it by itself by gaining interest into certain area that helps building creative thinking like art class piano class etc....To destroy the will of one child of learning creativity mostly will be the parents.ASIAN PARENTS. i shall repeat again ASIAN PARENTS!

Is....is not that they don't care about creativity, if you are one of the asian child you will know that your dearly parents will do almost everything to give you the opportunity to learn it. Monday they will sent you to have violin class, tuesday will be piano, wednesday it will be an art class, thursday and friday shall be the so called mind thinking class. Saturday?TUITION. 50% of asian parents will let their children have a break on Sunday but the rest will be fitted in dunnowhatkindofclassthaticannotthinkof -ahem-
kid A:Mom, Im sorry mom let me get away from this please mom..?QAQ
mom: NO -continues watch tv- Your maths teacher is coming soon get prepared.

In the end, unless a kid found him/herself masochist enough to feel happy during all these classes, i pretty sure that the kid will quit them all with the all sorts of excuses for example final exam coming yada yada yada and for results and their "face" sake they will happily cancel all the kids class.......And they also unconsiously thought their children that giving excuses will prevent them from problems thus all sorts of nagging kids grown up turn into a ungrown adult......
